基隆的形狀

計畫緣起
基隆長期與大台北生活圈緊密相連，許多居民每天往返雙北工作與生活。當生活重心逐漸移往城市之外，對基隆的熟悉感與連結也可能慢慢變淡。
《基隆的形狀》Vol.1：安樂採樣篇，從重新觀看日常生活開始。計畫希望邀請居民不只是用「通勤」去理解這座城市，而是轉而成為主動觀察、記錄與敘述地方的人。
基隆的城市景觀有著鮮明的特色：山、海、地形，形塑出緊密而垂直的地景，清代、日治、戰後到當代留下的痕跡，層層交疊在同一條街、一個街廓裡，只是這些每天在生活中的細節，很容易在習以為常之後被忽略。
這次我們以拼貼作為觀看城市的方法，參與者透過走讀、觀察與採集，把不同的圖像、紋理和材料重新組合，也在過程中發現平常不容易注意到的城市線索。這樣的觀看方式，其實也很像基隆本身：自然、歷史與人造環境總是交互穿插在同一個視野裡。
作為扎根安樂區的社區型藝術空間，CirCurate 以走讀與創作的核心概念發展這次計畫，參與者從古今「一日生活圈」的對照出發，沿途觀察、採集素材，最後在工作坊完成屬於自己的拼貼小誌。
我們希望讓藝術成為重新認識日常環境的一種方法，也把這些地方觀察與居民經驗慢慢累積下來，成為屬於基隆的城市紀錄。
Background
Keelung has long been closely connected to the Greater Taipei area, with many residents commuting daily to Taipei and New Taipei. As more of everyday life shifts outside the city, people may gradually feel less familiar with Keelung and less connected to it.
The Shape of Keelung Vol. 1: Anle Sampling begins with looking again at everyday life. The project invites residents to understand the city through more than just ‘commuting’, and to become active observers, recorders and storytellers of their surroundings.
Keelung has a distinctive urban landscape. Mountains, sea and terrain shape its dense, vertical cityscape, while traces from the Qing period, Japanese colonial rule, the post-war era and the present day overlap within the same streets and city blocks. These familiar details, however, are easily overlooked.
For this project, collage became a way of looking at the city. Through walking, observing and collecting, participants brought together images, textures and materials, while discovering urban details they might otherwise miss. This also reflects Keelung itself, where nature, history and the built environment often overlap within the same view.
As a community-based art space rooted in Anle District, CirCurate developed the project around walking and making. Participants compared past and present ideas of a ‘one-day living radius’, collected materials along the way and created their own collage zines in the workshop.
We hope art can offer a way to rediscover everyday surroundings and gradually build local observations and residents’ experiences into a record of Keelung.
